Weather Capy has no account system and we do not operate a server that stores your weather data. The app does use weather, analytics, crash-reporting, and advertising services as described below.
Overview
Weather Capy ("the App") is developed by gguggulab. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.
Information the App Uses
Weather Capy uses the following information to provide weather results and keep the app working:
Location and selected cities: if you allow location access, the app reads your device location to request local weather. You can instead search for and select a city manually.
Weather requests: the selected coordinates or city-search query are sent to OpenWeatherMap to retrieve current weather and forecasts.
App interaction data: Firebase Analytics receives coarse events such as whether a weather result completed, a manual refresh, or a city change. Weather Capy does not intentionally send exact city names, latitude, or longitude in these events.
Crash diagnostics: Firebase Crashlytics may receive technical crash and device/app diagnostic information from physical-device Release builds to help diagnose failures.
Advertising data: after the applicable Google consent flow permits ad requests, Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) may process device identifiers and other data under Google's policies to provide and measure ads.
Location Data
The App requests location permission only to show weather for your current area. Location permission is optional; city search remains available if you decline it. When used, location data:
is used on your device to request weather data from OpenWeatherMap and may be used by the device's geocoding service to show a city name;
is stored locally when it is part of a saved current or manually selected city;
is not intentionally sent in Weather Capy's Firebase Analytics events;
Can be revoked at any time through your device's Settings
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
OpenWeatherMap — provides city search, current weather, and forecast data. Privacy policy
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — provides advertising and the consent flow used before eligible ad requests. Google Privacy Policy
Firebase Crashlytics — provides crash diagnostics for physical-device Release builds. Firebase privacy information
On-Device Storage
Weather Capy stores its weather cache, saved cities (including their coordinates), selected city, temperature-unit preference, onboarding state, and limited session/measurement state on your device. This supports offline stale-weather display and remembers your choices. You can remove this local app data by deleting the app.
Your Choices
You can deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings and use city search instead.
Where Google requires it, the app presents its consent flow before it requests ads. If a privacy-options entry is required, it appears in the app's Settings screen.
You can delete the app to remove Weather Capy's locally stored settings, saved cities, and cached weather data.
Children's Privacy
Weather Capy is not directed to children. Advertising and measurement providers may process data under their own policies; please review those policies before use by a child.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
